Pours a somewhat hazy brown/amber. About one-and-a-half fingers of head that simmers down to a thin cap. Light carbonation. Light lacing on the glass.
Nose consists of subtle notes of holiday spice, winter fruit, raisin, and perhaps some dark chocolate.
Taste is similar to the nose. Some dark chocolate, raisin, slight note of ginger, stewed pear, cinnamon even? No hint of the 7.5 abv.
Mouthfeel is good for the style. Enough carbonation to keep things lively. Not overly sweet or slick.
Overall, a good selection for sipping by the fire. Got this in a growler fill at a local store. Consumed the next day, but I think the beer went a little flat overnight, which is too bad. Would like to see better quality/more consistent growler fill methods around town. Not to take away from this beer, however, which is a great winter warmer. Well balanced array of flavors for the holidays.
