Served on-tap at the Warwick during the "Last Hurrah" party. Really going to miss you guys, especially after having this beer.
Pours pitch black with a nice one finger tall tan cap, leaving spotty webs of lace on the glass. Smells of bakers chocolate, habanero spice, dark roasted malt, coffee grounds and a decent amount of cinnamon. Taste is very similar but a bit more bright. Starts off with the chocolate, coffee and cinnamon and then it transitions to a bit of hop bitterness, light sweetness and a nice habanero spice burn. Finish is roasty with a nice burn from the peppers, lingering long after the finish. Roasty feel throughout with some mild bitterness and pepper spice coming through.
Overall I would say they went out with a bang. I can honestly say that this is the best beer they have ever made, and I really like some of the others. It is very similar to Mexican Cake, maybe a bit less cinnamon and a bit more heat. I just wish I could have a few bottles to take home.
