Draft offering at Al's of Hampden served in a tulip shaped pint glass. The brew appears dark brown with some clarity seen around the edges. A tan finger of head rests atop and fades leaving some webby lace on the glass. Overall the cap shows decent retaining capability and a swirl revives it.
The aromatics are pretty neutral with hints of roasty character somewhat reminescent of coffee and chocolate. Almost a sweetness of vanilla hints towards the tail end.
The flavor includes a minor roast element blended with a soft touch of minerals. It is earthy with an unexpected sort of cola character that fades into the aftertaste. Not really what I was expecting but not terrible either.
This brew is unique. Perhaps a hybrid of sorts caught between a light porter and more heardy brown ale? It is light bodied, modestly carbonated and overall easy drinking. I had no issues finishing my glass. I am a fan of these guys and always eager to try their next creation. This one just didnt wow me like the other offerings they make.

On tap at Mastracchio's in Newport
A - The body was a darker shade of brown but showed some lighter brown highlights around the edges...the head was off white in color and was about a finger tall...it fell to a wispy cap, but was able to leave some decent lacing
S - There wasn't much coming out in the aroma...pretty light actually...some roasted malts, light chocolate, and a hint of sweetness
T - Here's where everything comes together...the flavor starts off with the notes of a brown ale...there are some hints of nuts paired with the faintest dark fruit flavor...undertones of sweet, dark caramel rush in right before the porter flavors take over...roasted malts and chocolate come in towards the finish to showcase the porter side...they join with the caramel to create a roasty yet sweet finish
M - Medium bodied...smooth, sweet, roasty
O - I'm hooked on this beer...it's a great beer to have out at this time of the year...it's full in flavor while being lighter in body...great hints of nuts, chocolate, roast, and caramel
