On tap @ Al's of Hampden...
A - A slight finger's worth of slightly off-white colored head... Limited retention... Moderate carbonation... The color is a rich mix of medium gold and light bronze...
S - The aroma is a but underwhelming and somewhat subdued... There is an earthy floral presence the is at the forefront... There is a slight malt presence that take on a crust like presence...
T - Starts earthy as expected... Some doughy malts... Then comes a big assertive hop bite... The hop bite is quite unique and unlike anything I've previously tried before (that's a good thing)... The Legacy, Belma and Falconer's Flight hop varietals are all new and quite enjoyable... It's pungent and earthy with a very vague onion presence... It took a couple of sips to get used to, but was quite tasty thereafter...
M - Medium bodied... Lightly carbonated... A bit chalky... A bit dry...
D - Overall this is a rather assertive American IPA that tread very close to Double IPA... The first sip smacks you a bit in the face... Once you're through the initial assault, you settle into a very interesting and one of a kind American IPA... Lots of earthiness... A distinctive hop bite... The end result is a rather enjoyable brew...
