22oz bottle at an Italian restaurant in Fresno.

A: Pours a dark nutty brown with a thin finger of bubbly light brown head that quickly faded into a faint collar.
S: Mild overall with nutty brown ale scents and faint chocolate.
T: Nutty taste, reminds me of a brown ale. Mild notes of wheat and brown sugar come through with slight spice in the finish. Flavors are quick and easy, nutty overall, with a hint of caramel, coffee and roast. The finish is sweet but not cloying, and the aftertaste is spicy and woody.
M: Normal carbonation, medium-full body, soft, fluffy and clean mouthfeel.
O: interesting combination of flavors; clean and easy to drink. I’m suddenly getting some strange dark fruit flavors in the aftertaste as the beer really warms up, but it’s not especially off-putting. Would drink again, albeit not regularly.

Drank this at Swiggs in Fresno.

Hard to rate the appearance on this one. Its dark, I mean really dark. Like a very dark brown that is mixed with black. The nose was fantastic. Reminded me of sitting around the campfire with that forest kinda lite smoke smell you only get when camping out. Made me smile. The taste was an orgy of flavors. Again a smoke of a good cigar, or campfire, followed with a feel of roasted coffee. There was a finish that hit right at the end that was a deep dark chocolate. Almost sweet, but more like a dark bar. The mouth was full and pleasant. Very very heavy in the body. I had a couple there over the game and a BBQ burger. When the last beer got a little warm, I was happy to see that flavor came out even more. This is a good beer for cold, or room temperature. I am happy to drink it warm.

Poured into tulip glass.

Appearance: Deep brown, moderate lacing, white head.

Smell: roasted malt, chocolate, raw pumpkin.

Taste: chocolate, roasted malt, a hint of coffee, raw pumpkin.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, minimal carbonation, smooth.

Overall: a decent beer. Though like the Rileys Sancha I had prior to this, there is an enexpected raw pumpkin aroma/taste that is very unusual and off-putting.
