A: Poured a light copper-brown, with a 1-finger head that lingered nicely
S: Bread notes first and foremost, with toasted malt supporting; faint aromatic hops.
T: Well-balanced between a sweet, bready malt and the bitter hops, but not a lot of either. The taste didn’t linger long on the palate.
M: Crisp, with medium carbonation and no discernable alcohol burn.
O: A little less full-flavored than I was expecting (not that English bitters are heavy-handed), and not very complex, but certainly enjoyable. The next time I’m in the north of England, I hope to tour their brewery and sample all their offerings fresh from the tap.
