(Note: This is reportedly the same beer as "Hell Beck" by Geltsdale, but under a different name. I could not verify this through the brewery, and have listed it separately as a limited-availability brew.)
A: Poured a clear, dark reddish-brown. Head was thin, but lingered decently. No appreciable lacing.
S: Bready malt at first. Also sweet malts. A faint whiff of citrussy hops as well.
T: Strong, toasted malt up front, with some burnt malt as well. No sweetness in this one. The bitterness of hops is there in the finish, but there's another bitter taste I can't quite identify. Almost like burnt rubber -- not strong enough to ruin it, but enough to detract from the experience.
M: Decent carbonation and crispness.
O: Not as good as Geltsdale's other products I've tasted - not even close, to be honest. That unpleasant rubbery flavor in the finish really took a potentially fine bitter and made it merely passable. I wonder if I got a bad bottle, although I checked the freshness date and it was within the good range.
Hopefully they did something different to this limited-edition version, as I'd hate to think that the Hell Beck is just like it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
