The beer pours a pitch black beer with an off white head.
The smell is roasted and has a nutty and grainy smell, it smells like the dark roasted wheat malt as mentioned on the label. It is like sniffing a bag of malt. Nice and different than other stouts, in general.
The taste is like the aforementioned grains, a wheat like, roasted malttaste with a subtle, velvety mouthfeel. There is a thin roasted edge to the taste, with a slightly husky taste, but this adds to the stout style. The bitterness is not high, but seems to be in balance with the other tastes. The mouthfeel is slightlty sweet and full. A nice take on the stout style.
