This IPA is nothing special. With that said, I really like it. Its unassuming, it just goes down easy.

A beer with a label that speaks to me. (My dog suffers from severe separation anxiety unfortunately). They've made a lot of offshoots of this one but I think I still prefer their original, standard IPA. An overlooked brewery in the packed field that is Northern California, Berryessa makes some really solid beer out of a very cool outdoor brewery space in Winters, CA. This beer (as well as the brewery itself) is worth checking out to all beer lovers.

Bright golden colored body. Nice creamy head. Stone fruit, grapefruit rind, and melon. Clean action from the hops. A light IPA. I could drink a few of these.

Sweet, tropical-hoppy, slightly dank/piney nose on this one! Impressive aromatics for a single westie...a lot of character. Taste follows with the piney, dank bitterness that let's you know it's there, but leaves the tropical-sweetness behind. This is another one that leaves me impressed with Berryessa Brewing...this is another versatile one! It is so light and refreshing that it almost drinks and feels like a pale ale...but, it has depth and character and different distinct notes like a westie with a higher ABV...annnnnnd, it has aromatics like a hazy! Good quality stuff!

This is definitely an underrated brewery, especially regarding their hoppy beers. Dark golden color, 1/3" white head. Aroma was a nice mix of was seemed like some ctz or chinook older school stuff with maybe some Amarillo?
Taste is a nice hoppy but not overly bitter beer, any crystal malt is kept at minimal levels (if at all) and the bone dry aspect pairs nicely with green lush hops flavors. Really easy to drink, not a challenge at all, just really good stuff to pound when you come down from Lake Berryessa or Putah Creek. Well carbonated and appropriate for style. Good stuff.

I had this from a growler that was filled a week prior. But hooray for a counter pressure fill---the growler popped like a just filled bottle.
For an IPA this drinks like a session beer. It's lightly tan-golden with a great cap of foam. Lightly hopped, with a crisp finish. Easy drinking.
