Enjoyed on tap at the Davis Beer Shoppe.
A: Pours a very dark black, letting no light. A frothy khaki colored film sits on top. It leaves behind solid rings of lacing.
S: It has a strong hop profile for a rye beer. The rye is noticeable in a slight sour sense, but is overpowered by the hops.
T: Similar to the aroma with a strong hop profile that is mostly piney. The rye makes a light appearance.
M: Medium bodied but sort of watery. It is also kind of flat for my liking.
O: At first I thought this would be a unique spin on a rye beer based on the appearance, but was a bit let down from the lack of rye character and the overpowering hops. This wasn't terrible by any means and with a few tweaks, could become a solid rye.
