Pours almost black in color with a khaki head. Nose is actually pretty good. Tons of coffee, some roasted malt, and mild chocolate. A hint of sweetness, too. Flavor is a real letdown. Very watery, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a decent amount of coffee. The flavors aren't bad, but the beer is just too watery.

Consumed May 28th, 2012 at the brewery.
Clear, dark caramel brown with a fine, creamy white head.
Aroma is (wait for it) coffee.
Flavor is coffee. Slightly sweet. Flavor comes on sharp thanks to proper carbonation, but there's exactly one note I could pick up here and it's cold coffee.
Mouthfeel benefits slightly from good carbonation.
A one trick pony that's not terribly impressive.

On tap at The Lab Brewing Company in Agoura Hills, CA.
Pours a clear dark brown with a tan head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small dots and streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of roasted malt, cocoa powder, and coffee beans/grounds. Taste is pretty much the same but the coffee dominates the other flavors. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good porter with a nice coffee presence.
