Best by 9/22/16.

Pours a murky dark orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of old malt, rotting fruit, dirt, and burnt sugar aromas. Taste is much the same with sugar, toast, fruit, and dirt flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a poor beer that is just a mess of odd aromas and flavors that make this one hard to drink much of.

Serving type: can.

Hawaiian style? All I can tell you is that I picked up a six pack of HPA when we landed in Kahului. It was on sale, it was tasty, and it disappeared in a big hurry. It's much better than your average macro, but certainly nothing I would go out of my way to try again. Slightly orange, soapy nose, anemic malt/hop combination. I drank it on a lanai overlooking the beach. How bad can life really be?

Omg this was awful. Took a sip, spit it out. Dumped it out. It tasted like vinegar. So bad. Im not even sure this was beer.

Standard 22 oz. bomber poured into a pint glass. The HPA pours a light orange/copper with a hint of haze and sports a thin cap of slightly off white foam. Aroma of light citrus and some sweet grainy notes. Just a kiss of hops in the mix. Warming brings out some remote Belgian yeast notes yet they never bring much to the game.

Taste follows with a light citric sweetness and a brief grainy finish. Just a subtle bitterness ensues along with a slightly coarse spice character. More orangello on the close of sorts but yet not really. An unusual mix of malts/hops/yeast executes in varied ways.

This beer rebounds a bit with a pleasant though not earth shattering mouthfeel and drinkability. Unoffensive and easy drinking though slightly different in the big scheme of things. Bit of tannins on the close yet stopping short of astringency in the delivery. Reminds me of the girl next door.
