On nitro tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.

Pours a clear super dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, and toasted nut aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, milk chocolate, nut, earth, and slight char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a slightly crisp, smooth, and creamy mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with really nice cocoa qualities that work quite well with the nitro presentation.

Serving type: on nitro tap.
