Why have I left this in my fridge for so long? Well, I'll admit that I have been a little nervous about the Basement line. Their Golden Ale tasted more like nail polish remover than beer, and even their Tony Festival was riddled to some extent of that characteristic. Third time's a charm, yes? At worst, I'll have a sexy female pirate to look at, which adorns the bottle label. Sergio, mais uma vez, obrigado! On to the beer:
This can't be good. There's no head at all formed on top. It's black colored, though it could be confused for a Coke. The nose...oh no, not again!!! Nail polish remover and rubber. There's faint chocolate, and the good ends there.
Actually, it doesn't taste as bad as it smells, though remember, that's relative. There's some bitter chocolate mixed with bits of rubber and nail polish remover. Still, it's not bad, and with the aroma as atrocious as it is, sends a signal to my brain that it can't taste good. Mouthfeel...it's flat, though at least it's nearly full bodied, so I can't be to harsh. In fact, that's the beer's best aspect, which is very sad indeed.
Why can't Basement bottle a beer that isn't infected? Three Basement beers, and three infected beers. Until the crew improves their game, I give up on the brand.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
