On tap at West End Elixers in Bryan TX. Served in a shaker pint.
Appearance: Medium to dark amber color, clear, very thin white head that died back to mostly no head - no lacing either.
Smell: Lightly toasted malt - not a lot of other aroma.
Taste: Toasted malt with a sharply bitter finish, with some pine notes to it.
Mouthfeel: Nice thickness, a little sticky on the teeth, light carbonation.
Overall / Drinkability: I liked the nice sharp bitter finish of this beer, but I found it otherwise just okay. Neat story behind the beer, but nothing special. Might pair well with BBQ though.

I was a little worried when I bought this because I can't stand overly hopped stuff, but it seems to work in this case. While it does have a very assertive hop bite, it still has the malt on the back end that makes it work well. It's not something I could sit around the pool and drink all day, but I will definitely buy again. It's good for when all you want is one or two. I drank it from the can but poured some in a glass for a look. More brown than amber and slightly cloudy. Nice foam and good carbonation. Balanced but pronounced hop flavor. Love the name. (not that it matters)

Have had one draft plus cans from two different lots. Although called an amber it's almost an IPA. It's a delightful beer to quaff. It is a tad cloudy but that doesn't affect the taste. Light head and lacing but the malt notes are there. The hop aroma and tongue coating last -- a "Good thing" IMHO. I've picked up a couple of six packs the past two time I've been in central Texas (H.E.B. rocks!)

Pours light copper. Good head and retention. Nosenis caramel toffee bready malt. Taste follows. Caramel, toffee, bready malt, light hoppy fruitiness, lightly toasted malt. Good amber. Crisp body.

Wasn't expecting much from this beer, for some reason, but DJ is a solid if somewhat undistinguished amber ale. Seems a bit above average on the carbonation front for an ale, and on the lighter side (even for an amber), but has a nice aroma and goes down easily. While not at the top of my amber list, it's a relatively local alternative I'd be happy to serve.

Great beer from a great place! Poured from a can into a glass. Color was amber/light brown. Smell was very malty. Poured and produced a Nice one inch head that smelled bready. Left little to no lacing. Tasted malty the lightest hint of hops at the end. Nice medium carbonation with a smooth feeling. Would buy again!
