12 oz. can poured into tall tulip
L: yellow to yellow-gold, about 90% opaque, small head of white foam about 1/4-inch tall; no sticking or lacing; keeps a thick collar of white foam
S: sweet yeast, grain; as it warms, something fruity sweet pops out ... dates or prunes, earthy cherries (not cherry candy); even as it warms, the earthy yeast remains the lead note
T: sweet yeast but not as sweet as the nose; there might be some earthy cherry flavor way in the background, for there is some sweetness, but it's hard to say for sure
F: light, full, plenty crisp
O: big points to New Republic for staying authentic — this smells and tastes authentic and not like cherry soda, and if you squint you can almost see some real cherry aroma and flavor coming out of it; the yeast is a bit overwhelming, and that's to be expected ... most American-made abbey ales have that overly-yeasty flavor

Had it at the brewery. Nice day and good band. The other two beers I had were great. This one was ok. It seemed a bit like slightly flat cherry soda beer. Nice cloudy yellow color but little head or lacing. Sweet fruity smell. If you like a strongly fruit flavored beer - this is for you.
