A very good porter with a nice balance of smokeyness. Near black color and brown head. Roasty aroma and taste with some dry malts. Fizzy mouthfeel and medium body. A good example of the style. This is definately one of the better brews these guys make. Right up there with the best porters. Reminds me of a Fullers with smoked malts.

The beer pours a dark brown color with a thick frothy offwhite/tan head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a roasted malt scent with some chocolate hints and a light smoked presence. It comes across dry with a malt sweetness. The taste is good also. It has a dry, yet malty taste that goes down smooth and finishes earthy. It boasts of crystal and roasted malts. The smoked malts are light and barely noticeable. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good seasonal brew. It's nothing over the top, but it has good flavor and aroma; a solid offering.
