From the brewery: "Space Stout-- Our stout is a big, full-bodied black beer with a wonderful balance of roasted and chocolate malt flavors. Flaked oats are added to the grist to give it a silky mouth feel and sweet finish."
I gave it a whirl while visiting during GABF weekend '08. As advertised, the beer begins with a mellow blend of cocoa and coffee with some creamy, soft textures. The beer, as most of theirs do, suffer just a bit from being timid on the gravity and the hops. The sweetness is balanced well with citrus flavored hops, but do little else. This beer doesn't boast any real flaws except for a light astringency from the grains in the end.

The beer pours a deep, dark black color with a thick frothy tan head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a dry, earthy scent that boasts of black malts as well as chocolate malts. The taste is good also. It has a dry black malt flavor that is smooth and filling with an earthy finish. It has a slight chocolate malt presence as well. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good tasting stout. It's pretty standard by design, but it drinks well.
