Another beer from the Single, Fresh, Wet & Wild Festival in Chico, CA put on by Sierra Nevada. 1st review of this beer on BA.
Pours a feint yellow with 1/4" of head. Clarity rides a fine line between lightly cloudy and kind of displaying clarity. Aroma, well, you know the ol' story about how Green Flash ruined Alpine's Nelson? Well this isn't going to make anyone happy, but here, its like, worse. They tried to make a session Nelson, and big shock, it is a shadow of the almighty Nelson.
Taste displays more bitterness than it does flavor, which quite the oddity in terms of the Nelson hop's usual provisions. A very mild presence of guava, wasn't getting much in the way of the usual dank weed, body odor and garlic notes. Sometimes I read that back and wonder if people might do the same weird look like when you describe wet dog in a phone booth or horse blanket notes to them. Body was light, but I mean, its 4.2% session ale, it better be. Pale, neutral stuff in terms of yeast and malt. As it should be.
