Wheat and yeast provide a perfect base for the mild cloves and banana in this true German style hefeweizen. It’s only mildly sweet, so this doesn’t taste like many of the lesser attempts out there. Light-to-medium bodied, nice and clean on the palate for a hefeweizen. The nose shows prominent wheat and yeast, with mild aromas of banana and clove. Pale straw in color, but about as cloudy as any beer I’ve ever seen. Despite being on regular draft, the white head is very creamy and fluffy as if it were on nitro. Solid, unassuming, traditional hefeweizen.
