Not your modern day West Coast IPA. First impression was 1990s, 1st generation American IPA with ample malt bill with plenty of crystal malt character, gorgeous copper color, and bitter (not tropical or citrusy) hop bite. As it warms, hop character leans toward the English herbal and earthy hop realm. Nice malt balance. Lovely American rendition of an English IPA or a throwback to the lesser-used East Coast IPAs before hazy set in. A well built, solid craft brew. Not fashionable, but definitely rewarding.
