Draft tonight at Bittercreek.. Surprisingly I've had this one other time in PDX.. Spiciness is all about the ginger and I guess some coriander that adds depth to the yeasty notes and then accentuated some lemon aspect.. Weird and seems very overspiced and does not allow the yeast to sing at all... I didn't care for it last time and maintain that idea.

Review is from notes

Look: Pours a nice golden color with a fluffy white head that leaves good lacing

Smell: Yeast spice, clove, banana, a little lemon, and some fruit

Taste: Pear, coriander, pepper, clove, a little banana, dry finish. Some nice hops in there as well

Feel: Light to medium body, full carbonation

Overall: Pretty good, I'm sad to see this was only a one off and I won't see it again.

Golden-orange, warm honey like color with an aroma undoubtedly of a belgian. Almost surprising sweet notes all throughout the tasting, but not bad once its all down. Tad bit heavy on mouthfeel but very pleasing flavor aroma and smell. Happy medium for full flavor without overpowering hops.

On tap at the brewery – 01/22/14
Served in a 6oz taster glass

A: Lightly burnished gold look with great clarity. Frothy half finger of paper white suds sits on top. Moderate staying power with some low amount of stick leaving only a few dotted streaks behind.

S: Bright Belgian yeast spice on the nose. Filled with coriander, clove, and a touch of banana peel. A little lemon pepper there and some golden fruit sweetness to it. Nice and on point with the style.

T: Ripe golden pear meets coriander spice, cracked peppercorn, and a touch of clove. There are some lesser notes of banana peel and bubblegum mixing in as well. A bit of dry cracker malt at the base brings a candy like sweetness to the brew. Real nice balance to this with a moderate bitterness and some low perceived alcohol noted. A rather nice and considerably hoppy Tripel.

M: Very smooth with a frothy pop from a higher carbonation. Light to medium in body and crisp with a nicely drying finish. Light stickiness but fairly clean overall.

D: A surprisingly delicious blend. Vibrant in Belgian spice flavors with a well crafted balance. This is a very nice and hoppy Tripel that I would love to have again.

Nearly clear, bright, golden orange and yellow pour. Frothy white head and lots of lacing down the glass. A beautiful, glowing tripel.

Sweet, yeasty, fruity nose--namely lemon and banana.

Similar to the nose, though the banana and lemon stand out substantially. The flavors are bright and powerful. Moderate bitterness balances it out nicely. Incredibly good.

Medium to thick mouthfeel. Smooth. Somewhat heavy and coating.

A classic tripel. A great effort from Green Flash! I would love to have this is a local, affordable (regularly available) option when I get the craving for a tripel.

On tap at the brewery.

Pours a bright gold color with a nice thick bright white head.

Aromas subtle, but I notice of candies, crisp apple, spices, and bread dough.

Taste is much like the aromas, but more pronounced. Starts of sweet, like hard candies, then there is a nice hint of mixed spices, some cloves, lemons, and bread dough. Finish is soft, creamy, and slightly warm from the alcohol.

Mouthfeel is nice, smooth, and full bodied.

Overall, a very nice example of the style. Well done Green Flash, my wife and I both enjoyed this one quite a bit.

A: Bright gold with a finger of dense foam. Lacing appears as a thin coating of foam on the glass.

S: Strong estery characteristics are redolent of banana, pear, apple, and grape. The beer smells pretty sweet, with notes bread and sugar.

T: Sweet bread and candied sugar. There's a pronounced banana flavor in there, as well as apple, pear, and a mild clove-like spiciness. Alcohol is evident in the sweet and lightly spicy finish. Complex and balanced.

M: Medium body with a lower level of high carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and sticky.

Overall: A good Tripel. The potency of the ABV is deftly masked. Recommended.

Enjoyed on-tap @ Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA for $6. Tapped into a 10oz Tulip Glass and has GREEN FLASH Special Cuvee TRIPEL written in Green/white on the chalkboard of Guest Taps.

Aroma- Starts with a pleasant spiciness and a nice malt flavor with a peppery background. Has a citrus flavor and could be due to some hops.

Appearance- Received with a 1.5 finger of creamy head that lasts for what seems like forever! Deep golden color body and leaves good lacing on the glass.

Flavor- Nice blend of orange peel, spice, and peppery flavors. There is a bit of malt and lemon in here as well. Sweet finish and a mild bitterness.

Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, High Carbonation, Sweet, Creamy, and effervescent with orange peel left on the palate.

Overall Impression- This is my second Tripel on this trip and now appreciate this style very much! This specific tripel was eye candy from the start, and then had good all-around qualities. I am ready to enjoy many more from Green Flash since I've heard they have a great IPA and blonde. Keep me in California much longer!

On-tap at Beachwood Brewing

A: The pour is a clear golden color with a fluffy white head.

S: The nose starts off with sweet sugar and fruits with a lot of white grape notes.  There are plenty of pale malts and candi sugar.  There is a bit of banana in there, too.

T: There is a really nice banana flavor along with a mild spice, white grape and pears. The spice notes are mostly in the form of cloves. A bit more sweetness and substance from bread, candi sugar, and yeast.

M: Medium in body with a medium to high level of carbonation.

O: Green Flash has some misses, but this one was really quite good.
