Perfect location since I came into Sheffield by train. Wonderfully designed space retaining the features of the old station. Lots of cask options available, coupled with a pub vibe. Attentive service. Will likely visit a few more times

Great pub with great selection.

 

Of course, this is the place to be if you are waiting for a train, but it is also a destination for the best beer selection in town. The staff is very friendly and has let me sample a few rare beers. They have a good selection of Thornbridge and Brewdog on draft. There is quite a good bottle list. It can be hard to find a seat at busy times, but there is a lot of turnover. There are also a few seats outside in the front, but otherwise the beer can't be brought into the station. They don't have food, but you can bring things in from the station (such as upper crust or something from M&S), but I think they do have a few packages of crisps.

This recently opened Bar is actually one of the original Station Waiting Rooms in Sheffield Railway Station, with entrance from outside the Station and from Platform 1.

It specialises in the local excellent Thornbridge Beers, but has an additional 5 hand pulls serving ever changing guest beers, plus several taps serving imported lagers - the house lager being from Czechoslovakia. Also an enormous selection of imported bottled beers, for which there is a menu-book.

At time of visit only one person serving a busy bar, so it did seem a bit slow, though not sure if this was typical.

Pleasant layout with various seating and tables, and two smaller side rooms. Being on the Station itself it is a bit busy with regulars and passing trade, so you may have to stand. Beer prices are a bit expensive for the beers, but those we tried were in good condition and we certainly enjoyed our stay. The house lager beer 'Bernard' was very enjoyable too.

If you are in Sheffield and passing through or near the Station this is a must visit, or great as a final call on a pub crawl before getting the train home!
