Tasted by half-pint at a JDW pub at Baxter's Court, Hackney, N. London during the Wetherspoon's beer festival 11-21/05/06. The festival leaflet mentions that this beer is made with Czech Sladek hops, besides Goldings and Fuggles... hence the name, I guess.
A: dark straw to pale amber colour, coming with little beer head.
S: very light grapefruity-citric hoppyness with some fragrance and a salty hint at the back, backed by a very mild malty overtone; overall the semi-sweet flowery scent outperforms other elements.
T: slightly cosmetic yet also fragrant hops approaches... followed by a feather-light texture of grapefruity hoppy input, leading to a sour-sweet, malty aftertaste. No clear structure in the taste.
M&D: slightly lacking in structure and body, the beer tastes rather thin-ish and weird... I suppose the beer is not kept ideally at this pub. Don't mind trying it again, but the hop formula doesn't work beautifully IMO.
