A 500ml bottle with a BB of April 2014. Acquired a while back from a B&M store. Celebrate the best of British!
Poured into a tulip pint glass. An orange-amber hue with faint haze and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Decent lacing. Aroma of mild caramel malt with hints of husk, stewed leaves, faint grass and fruity ale yeast. Not terrifically stimulating.
Tastes of caramel malt with a mild finish. Notes of mild caramel, faint grain, husk, stewed leaves, fruity ale yeast and a hint of cardboard. A subtle sweetness, followed by a restrained, leafy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with effervescent carbonation and decent body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter stewed leaves, weak malt and vague yeast.
Meh - OK but nothing special. Looks pretty good, while the aroma and flavour are a dull mix of grainy malt and stewed leaves. Body is alright. A very middling ale that won't set your senses alight; no need to hunt it down.

Nice amber body with big frothy white head

Big malt backbone hop presence that makes it pleasant and interesting with slender yeasty kick to finish that is subtle enough to be noticeable but keep it in the EPA camp

We stayed in Andover while visiting frinds in England, and Wadworth is probably the closest brewery. Therefore we had lots of opportunity to try their beers, and even got to visit the brewery for the freshest cask ales.
Red, White and Brew was the current seasonal offering when we visited the brewery in Devizes. This summer beer is available June to August, and described in the literature as follows: "Brewed in celebration of all things British; Red, White and Brew is a powerfully hopped golden ale with a zesty hoppy nose. The initial fresh, cleansing palate develops into a strong powerful bitterness, a sorbet of beers and a real thirst quencher, this is the summer beer of 2012."
Golden color with a small, white head. Aroma is more on the fruity, floral side and not alot of malt. Flavor is also fruity, some citrus, with the caramel malt coming through at the end. Low carbonation, thin body and mouthfeel. Not quite the hoppy bite I was expecting, but all in all it was pretty good.
