A 500ml bottle with a BB of May 2018. Picked up recently from B&M. The image on the label makes a subtle nod to a rugby theme....
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A bright golden-amber colour with plentiful carbonation. Forms a large head of frothy white foam that lasts for a moment or so before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of vaguely fruity ale yeast with hints of grainy malt, harsh leafy hops and faint stewed veg. Uninspiring.
T: Tastes of crisp aromatic hops with notes of light citrus, grass/hay, subtle spice, leafiness, ale yeast esters, pale malt and a harsh vegetal hint in the background. A moderate hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a thin, watery body. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, acrid stewed leaves and ale yeast.
O: Meh - pretty average. Looks OK, with a lacklustre aroma and a reasonably hoppy flavour struck through with a leafy off-note that's hard to ignore. Insubstantial body. There's something about Ringwood's ales - they always seem to have an undesirable harshness in the background. This one is a curate's egg; good in parts....

Bottled
Pours a golden body with spotty minimal white head
Despite a brown bottle there is an element of skunked in the aroma with some wheat
Some soapy hop lacks bitterness

Cask drawn. Light amber. Thin head.
Light hoppy aroma.
Typical English hoppy golden ale flavour. Nice astringent finish similar to a Burton ale.
Decent cask conditioned feel.
