On tap at Aztec Brewing Company in Vista, CA.
Pours a dark amber/copper with a tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of sweet malt, brown sugar, and citrus zest. Taste is of sweet malt, brown sugar, citrus zest, and some subtle barrel aged flavors. There is a mild bitterness on the palate after each sip. There is a mild bitterness on the palate after each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good barleywine that is really tasty without beating you over the head with barrel aged aromas and flavors.
