The description reads, "...this beer uses Chipotle and Ancho chiles, organic cacao nibs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and grains of paradise..."
Color is very dark brown/black. Smells of cinnamon and nutmeg, some vegetal (chile).
The taste is muddled. A lot of experimental ingredients, but nothing really stands out. Not over-the-top spicy like other chili beers. No obnoxious nutmeg, like some winter ales. Everything works together into a nice American Strong Ale, a beer without category.
I like it. The spice fits in well with the other spices. Its a nice sipper, or paired with spicy food. And would make a real good winter warmer beer.
