How very CANurious! I added this one in support of The CANQuest (tm) & then CANpletely forgot about it as it fell into the backlog. Oh well, no time like the present.
From the CAN: "Twist It, Pop It … It's time to kick it with Floyd's[.] The best times are never planned, they just happen. Make them happen with Floyd's."; "Gluten Free".
I did a little in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing open the vent. Once opened, I beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug until I could determine just what it CANtained since I bought a bit of a pig in a poke with this one. To my surprise & elation, it had wonderful clarity. I then simply allowed it to free-flow into the awaiting glass, where it foamed briefly & then faded quickly to wisps. Color was a gorgeous Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-plus quality clarity. Nose smelled very much like unsweetened iced tea with lemon! 8=O
I know that I am the duty dummy who added this as an AML, but it will be better served when thinking of it as an Herb & Spice Beer, especially since it actually lists Black Tea as one of its ingredients. I will send a ChANge request following this review.
Mouthfeel was thin & watery & to be honest, I really was not expecting anything else. Meh. The taste was super sweet, with two of its principal ingredients being pure CANe sugar and alcohol made from pure CANe sugar. Phew! I am surprised that the ABV was not MUCH higher. Don't get me wrong, the tea was the fourth ingredient listed with triple filtered water first, the sugars, then tea, followed by citric acid fifth. It tasted like SWEETENED iced tea with lemon, much more sweet than the nose had suggested. Phew. Finish remained sweet with a lemony tea-like tang. This is probably better suited for a hot, humid Summer's day, but it wasn't undrinkable, just a bit sweet for my taste. YMMV.
