drinkable for the style, interestingly served to me in a pint glass, uncommon for the style, and the second new beer i have had from telluride in the last week, they must be ramping up the innovation side of things after a long but steady period of the same stuff over and over, it got a little tired, so this seems well times. its weird to me that so many gose types have plums in them all of a sudden, i have seen at least two roads and weldwerks with the same thing, if not a few more around town of late, is there a sale on plums or something i should know about going on? this one is pink and a little hazy, not as bright as some, and fizzy more like a soda than a beer in the glass. aroma and flavor are only lightly tart, clean enough and all, but barely even sour, well below the average for the style. the plum is nice, but it too is rather subtle, and the salt i am used to in the style is hardly there at all. some other sort of yeast esters here too, a little gritty texture to it, thin in a way, not much from the wheat malt, maybe dumbed down a little bit, but i prefer this to bracing acidity or forced fruit. the plum is natural and tastes good, no cheesy lactic elements here either, its professionally done, just maybe a little safe. faint coriander late, relatively dry for the fruitiness, more generic fruitiness though than plum specific, which is more unique to this fruit than to this specific beer, its often the case with plums in an ale like this. overall decent but nothing new or special. one of the first sour beers i can recall from telluride...
