Of the mountains, by the mountains, for the mountains. This Kölsch is true to the traditional style of its hometown in Germany, yet it’s proof that it’s not where you’re born that matters. It’s where you end up. Clean, crisp, and sessionable, Telluride Mountain Beer is made for the place we call home. Thanks Cologne, we’ll take it from here!

Telluride Mountain Beer Kölsch, 5.2% ABV. Pours hazy golden with a one-finger off-white head that persisted. Nose is bready. Taste follows, plus faint citrus, lightly sweet, slightly bitter. Excellent mouthfeel with decent carbonation. Overall excellent and very drinkable.

This was an excellent Kolsch, and it kind of took me by surprise. I've had a couple of their other beers, and they're solid but not spectacular, but this one was clearly better than the rest. They nailed the style, and the ABV is low enough that it doesn't seem like a pumped-up-for-Americans version of what should be a light and mild beer. Very well done by Telluride, and if I ever get down there I'd like to stop in for a visit.

So do most people who go to breweries not use this site still? (I know they're all on Untappd....except a lot of people still use this site....be better) Suggested a few edits. This is a flagship so I'm kinda surprised i had to as I've seen this beer even in Wal-Mart. Anyways. Decent Kolsch not spectacular for pure Kolsch but again Telluride somehow despite not having any vibes whatsoever has at least produced a quality offering I'd have again.

L:. Pours a slightly cloudy golden straw yellow with a foamy white head and thick sheets of lacing around the glass.
S:. Bready, a hint of lemon, earthy hops, mineral notes.
T:. Fresh toasted bread, a light lemon note, a note of mineral, and some floral hops. Very easy drinking.
F:. Crisp and very easy drinking.
O:. Overall, a solid choice for a warm weather beer.
