really tasty new zealand hopped brew here, my first from telluride in years, used to love these guys! thanks to my buddy for bringing this one out, cool that they use the hop terpenes in it too, a really neat way to hop this. its on the edge of being a double ipa in terms of strength, but it doesnt drink huge like that, despite having some sturdy body to it. its smooth and kind of addicting on the palate for me, with a wheaty texture and an almost creaminess. sometimes this type of hopping yields grossly overdone brews, ones that permeate and burn the tongue, but not here, they capture the best parts of these varietals and dont murder my palate with the intensity of the hops. huge melon, papaya, and tangerine notes here, white wine, mango, pear, its just really forward, juicy, and bold. rad that the hops start so soon in the flavor too, like as soon as it hits my tongue its hoppy, and dry hoppy at that. the ferment is clean and minimal, the grain is dry and supportive, and overall this is both well executed and unique because of the terpenes, a hugely modern beer for these guys, who always kind of seemed rooted in the classics to me. fun to see their evolution, this was really exciting and good!

I got a can of this beer from my bestie from Charlotte, NC whom got it from a beer of the month club. It poured a hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had melon and pomegranate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sharp melon and stone fruit peel presence that finishes bitter. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.
