It's a bit late, but in my defense I had to go to Colorado and bring it back. This is Telluride Brewing Company's Oktoberfish märzen. It's a 6.2% German style beer with a darker gold color that I was expecting with a slightly off-white head, but a traditional malty nose. The traditional malt sweetness flavor for an Oktoberfest beer is present, albeit a little watered down, though it's possible this could be related to the method of transporting it. The mouthfeel is smooth all the way through. I'd like to try this a little fresher and see what it was like then.

It's a good Oktoberfest, not superb but certainly drinkable and worth a purchase. This brewery make solid beers up and down their lineup and this is another one, even though it's a seasonal. Glad I picked it up when surveying the Oktoberfest display this year.

L:. Pours a clear golden yellow with a medium white head and thick rings of lacing around the glass.
S: Sweet caramel and toffee, toasted malt, a strong earthy hop. Smells quite hoppy for an Oktoberfest.
T:. Earthy piney hops, caramel, toffee, toasted bread, a quite hoppy Oktoberfest.
F:. Smooth carbonation medium body.
O:. This at times drinks more like a red IPA than an Oktoberfest but still tasty.
