This is just an excellent pale ale. Telluride's best offering in my opinion, and that's saying a lot, with beers like Tempter IPA and Face Down Brown out there. This one has a straw, almost yellow color, and plenty of rye kick and hop character in the smell and taste. Certainly one of the best APA's I've ever tried.

My brother scored me one of these to take home after a ski trip at Wolf Creek years ago.

Pours an amber color, the rye seems to have taken on a deeper srm than your average pale ale. Almost reaches 1/2" off white head. Aroma is more of a malty, woody, affair, hops are definitely in the background for the most part.

Heavy malt flavors, caramel, toffee, almost a brown malt like existence. The rye doesn't offer much in the way of a spicy snap. Just heft and color. Hops again are somewhat of an afterthought. I would definitely recommend this to someone who likes malty ipas. The problem is the hops are there to contribute plenty of bitterness, I would say in the high 60ibu range. Some grapefruit notes to it for sure.

12 oz. Can

Pours a nice yellow color, nice carbonation, with a pretty nice small off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, yeasty, with some citrus. The taste is hoppy, malty, citrusy. Medium body, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.

Pours a clear golden with a thin off-white head. Smells like fresh bread and a hint of citrus. Taste begins with some hints of mint, spicy rye, then crackers, followed by some grapefruit and pine. Good mouthfeel. Overall a very nice rye beer.
