Pellets & Powder IPA is our deeper exploration of hops and hop processing, showcasing the advancement of hops by utilizing pelletized hops, along side Cryo hops, aka Lupulin powder. The end result is soft, rounded juiciness with hints of stone fruit, orange juice and a touch of dank.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow color with a thin foamy head. Head retention is good as is lacing. Somewhat juicy aroma with fresh citrus and decent pine. Mildly juicy taste but still nice a fresh. Citrus with decent bitter pine. LIght to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Hazy, bright yellow body; thin yet lasting head. Orange, grapefruit, and mango aroma. Tangy, citrus flavor; bold hop bitterness; mild cereal grain backbone. Medium body; sharp and dry on the palate.

A decent IPA, excelling in taste.

Poured from a 12oz can with a canned on date of 4/2/18; into a pub glass.
Appearance- cloudy, straw yellow with noticeable sediment and some barely present bubbles that effort to sustain a thin, white head. Lacing is abundant!
Smell - a nice blended nose of grapefruit, pear, herb and grass!
Taste- far more tropical than the nose suggests; a little pear, but not much grapefruit, and passion fruit, pineapple and mango form the base of the flavor profile!
Feel- the strong tropical fruit presence creates a bitter sweet mouthfeel and an immaculate easy drinking experience!
Overall- a stellar, hop forward IPA that displays creativity with a citrus nose, but a tropical flavor profile!

02/08/18 can:

Dull hazy grey-copper body. Frothy white head.

AROMA: Floral, grassy, herbaceous, and "dank" (as the kids say) hops. Reminiscent of cannabis, with muted hints of fruit overridden by a "green" almost earthily herbal hop character. Pale malts sneak their way in, but this is mainly hoppy in terms of aroma. Aromatic intensity is above average.

TASTE: Hop profile is uneven, directionless, and imbalanced...is this the same beer I drank before? Slightly grassy, herbaceous/herbal, floral, and evocative of muted vague fruitiness. Pale malts balance out the concomitant hop bitterness, but this just isn't dialed in. Out of whack, but not unpleasant.

TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, somewhat refreshing, well-carbonated, slightly oily.

OVERALL: I remembered this being better, but then maybe it just falls off quickly with age? Has the hop pungency of a pale ale but I'd honestly prefer Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. In an oversaturated style like India Pale Ale, you've got to bring more to the table. I'll have to revisit this fresh on-draught; I remember liking it more when I had fresh sixer.
