I tried this beer back in May of '06 at the Titletown Brewery. Sorry to see it is listed now as "retired" as I thought this was one of their better beers.
The beer poured such a dark brown color it was almost black. It made just a thin rim of head yet it still left some nice lacing down the glass.
There was a huge roasted malt nose that smelled really nice. There was also a bit of a crushed nut aroma to go along with the maltiness.
Rich, malty flavor along with some chocolate notes and crushed nuts. Good stuff.
A medium bodied brew with moderate carbonation. Wish I could have taken some home, but they only offered it on tap.

This beer was sampled as part of a sampler platter at the brewery. The pour is of a deep brown topped with a small compact light brown head. The nose is big and of chocolate with some roastiness. The mouthfeel is dry and the flavor is chocolate like. The finish is long dry and roasty. Beautiful.
