on tap at the brewpub in Green bay. pours an opaque black color with a single finger of rich tan head and weak retention. no lacings.
aroma is of dry, roasted malts and notes of burnt malt and chocolate with a light note of dark fruit. overall it is mildly bitter with a dry and roasted character.
taste is of rich burnt malt with chocolate roasted malt nd notes of dark fruit, mainly plum and a distant earthed note enveloped into an alcoholic note.
mouthfeel is dark and sweet with a full body and a dry character. smooth on the palate with a warming finish of lasting black malts. a mild hop note upon finishing allows the bitter finish to be accentuated.
drinkability is good. this is a full bodied and rich baltic porter with all of the main aspects of the style; a black malt-centric profile with a dry and roasted finish. nicely crafted.
