Moderately hazed bloody copper with a tight and lacy beige head.
Rye toast, doughy bread, mixed roasted nuts, cocoa powder, and lemongrass hoppiness on the nose.
Begins bready, doughy and wet, then tightens up with peppery rye toast, cocoa, nuts, and grass. Hops build of the evolving dryness, adding their own peppery tones, and hints of lemon peel.
Medium build, with some early plump doughy moments suggesting something fatter, but growing leaner throughout the sip.
The malt load is just a touch muddy, with the rye not the clear feature, yet it still comes together as a nuanced little drinker. I like it.

on tap at the old fashioned - $3.75, 2-1 taps on tuesdays
cell phone notes
appearance: served in a standard pint, deep mahogany-crimson body, creamy tan head
smell: cocoa, toasted dark malts, rye loaf
taste: this one feels like a porter - dark malts, strong cocoa, light citrus hops. rye comes through rather smooth - a nice beer from titletown
mouthfeel: creamy and full
drinkability: good
