I got a 6pck of cans of this beer from the Woodman's in Onalaska, Wisconsin. It poured a clear amber with off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had mild grain and sweet malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet caramel malt base with grain and finishing hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Compared to Capital Oktoberfest 12/2022: Pours a similar color, stronger aromas. More toasted malt and caramel. Less rich bread, orange citrus. Toasted and darker.
Compared to Capital Skål Winter Lager 12/2022: Pours a similar color, stronger aromas. More toasted malt and caramel. Less rich bread, orange citrus. Toasted and darker.
Compared to Lupulin Oktoberfest 10/24: More caramel, toast. Less smooth bread notes. Slightly less flavor. Winner: Lupulin
Overall: A really good Oktoberfest here. Decent appearance and aromas. Then picks up the pace on the flavors with nice toasty bread and caramel notes. Tons of flavor with an appropriate body. All-around drinks exquisitely for an American Marzen. Leans sweet, flavorful, and toasty, and I would say very nicely done. (Rating: 4.16)

Nice for the style,a little happier than most. There is a nice malt feel, but the hops could have supported more. This one stands out in the crowd, glad I tried it this year.

A wisconsin lager base with oktoberfest caramael malts. Body didn't hide the booze on the finish, but otherwise nice lager grains, malts and drinkability. Little yeasty on the smell. taste thins out as beer warms up

So I breached the Cheddar Curtain today and thought I'd take a chance on some lesser-known local labels. I haven't tried Titletown in a long while, and that may have been directly at the source.
Poured from a brown long neck into my short Becher glass. Best consumed by 11.02.13 on the label. Wait, that must be a scratchy 8, not a 3.
L -- Clear brassy gold color with a rather skimpy, off-white head that settles quickly.
S -- Lightly spicy hops, grainy notes, and mild breadiness.
T -- Light caramel and breadiness up front with a balance of spicy hops that linger through the finish. A light doughy bread flavor makes itself apparent in the aftertaste along with a touch of vinous fruitiness.
F -- Mouthfeel is soft to crisp with a light-medium body.
O -- Not a terribly great Okto to-style, and not a memory-making beer in general. Certainly not offensive and very drinkable, just more Ami-Okto than Bavarian Okto.
