Expect the Wurst is advertised as a beer inspired by Wisconsin Beer Boiled Brats. The aroma from this copper colored novelty immediately bring the culinary treat to mind. The aroma is partly beer and partly the caraway and smoke of brats. The beer itself has a slightly smokey initial taste with hints of a sour citrusy and a certain biscuity flavor. The biscuit must be the bun for the brats. Expect the Wurst leaves a pleasantly tart biscuit flavor that makes this an easy drinker. The carbonation was not particularly strong, making the mouthfeel rather nondesript.
By the name alone, it is obvious that this beer is a novelty item. For most drinkers, I suspect that it not something to drink all the time because aspects of the beer are so odd.
