A- Can into a snifter with a very slightly hazy pale golden yellow body and a fizzy white cap. The crown ends up at a finger high and quickly dies out to just about nothing. Spotty lace found infrequently.
S- Passionfruit absolutely flies out of the glass alongside the lactic acid from the ferment, a match made in heaven. Underneath all the brightness is a hint of whole grains. Passionfruit isn't the hardest aroma to capture but here it is juicy, tart and fresh; spot on.
T- The passionfruit leads the way but is quickly joined by a sour lactic acid presence which is reminiscent of lemons and yogurt. The vanilla comes out at this point and joins the passionfruit for a very slight almost light dessert feel without getting out of hand, the lack of sweetness is key here. A hint of grains to round it all out.
MF- Light bodied with more texture than the appearance would suggest as the beer has a slight creaminess on the palate. Silky and smooth with a moderate level of bubbles. Ends borderline sour with a heavy tartness.
It was good at the brewery and the canned serving is also spot on. The passionfruit in the aroma is intense and it finds some balance on the tastebuds with vanilla and light graininess. Reminds of that FL sun now that I am back in MA.
