750 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. Had 7/6/19.
Pours a ruddy dark amber, a little cloudy, with a one inch foamy head and spotty cling. Aromas of malt, caramel, light vanilla, some scotch, light oak and char, some chocolate, and some... I swear it’s wintergreen. Flavors of malt, caramel, scotch- more as it warms, some oak, light vanilla and chocolate. Mostly smooth, a good medium body, well carbonated.
The Scotch barrels are good, although not at all peaty. Solid base beer that’s on- point with the style. Enjoyable. No idea what that wintergreen thing was all about.
