32 oz crowler picked up at the brewery today

Pours black with khaki colored head. Aroma and taste are heavy on dark cocoa, a little bit roasty. Medium to full bodied.

L: Had this beer on-tap at Final Gravity's taproom, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of creamy, off white, fairly long-lasting head. Very good lacing.

S: A decent, but not brilliant, aroma of malt, chocolate, hops, and coffee.

T: Tasted of a tinge of hops (quite fleeting), a good amount of roasted malt (present throughout; a major ingredient), some light chocolate notes (could've used more), and light coffee notes (not a whole lot there). Like the aroma, the flavor's not bad, but kind of unremarkable. Still, it has bright spots.

F: A fair amount of carbonation with a super smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: An uneven beer, but it has some good qualities. Worth a try.

On-tap at Final Gravity Brewing Co., Richmond, VA

A: The beer is black in color and when held to to the light there are some traces of dark reddish brown near the edges of the glass. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that left a collar around the edge of the glass and some streaks of lacing down the sides.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark malts and cola are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of cola flavors with notes of dark malts.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is like drinking an adult version of a cola.
