hands down my favorite beer we had here when we visited. its a coffee porter, and in this case aged in corsair triple smoke barrels, a pretty compelling spirit on its own, really jazzing up this beer. its cool that its so low alcohol still, usually barrel aged dark beer is super strong, neat to see this one at a drinkable level, very unique. the coffee is really forward in this, nice with the smoked elements coming from the barrel and the dark roasted barley. its smooth in taste and feel, a little boozy and thick sweetness from the barrel coming through, but mellow oak and the relaxed vibe of this are awesome. the coffee still tastes fresh, so there must not have been too long of an ageing period on this, its all balanced well in its complexity. this is cool beer, i think it could be a little sturdier to balance the intense flavors of the spirit, the barrel takes over the beer just a little bit, but i liked this a lot as it is too, quite unique, come interesting yeast flavor for the style, and overall a well done beer! looks like they use other corsair whiskey barrels on this too, id love to try some others to see how they go, the triple smoke is intense in this!
