Citrus flavored hops collide with deep hints of chocolate malt and an up front roastiness. Medium bitter with a subtle dryness.

Thanks Tim for the share. Wax dipped bomber poured into a snifter. The brew appears a clear dark brown color with ruby clarity and a khaki head.
This smells nutty and slightly roasty. Not much else going on in the aroma. The taste includes a bit of citrus hops upfront than roasted grain and carbonic to mineral character. Not really what I was expecting in this.
This is medium to light bodied and modestly carbonated. Its not a terrible or offensive beer but it is kinda meh and I dont feel like I ever need to drink it again and im certainly glad I wasnt the who paid for it. Classic example of throwing wax on an average to below average brew in hopes it makes it more attractive. Well, it did its job and got my friend to pull the trigger and buy it...unfortunately thats all this beer is, looks. Not sure what they were going for with an "imperial porter" but many "normal porters" are much better and flavorful without flaws.

Round Guys is my local pub/brewery so I've had pretty much everything they've offered over the last 2+ years. I can honestly say this is easily their best beer. A lot of inconsistency in the first year with their beers but this one finally hit the nail on the head.
It's almost black with a reddish head. This one smells of strong coffee/chocolate and tastes nutty with a hint of chocolate. The taste is consistent throughout and actually quite drinkable with much less alcohol flavor than I expected.
Good job, RG!

I had a couple of times on tap at the brewpub back during the winter, but then I picked up a bottle of it.
22 oz bottle, sealed with white wax. pours not quite black - a dark brown color, with khaki colored head. reddish ruby hightlights in the corners of the glass. thick head, a bit foamy, with a bit of lacing on the glass as I drink. aroma is very roasty, notes of coffee and bitter chocolate. the taste is a bit softer in flavor, maybe a bit of earthy hops in there. dry aftertaste. thicker body, lower level of carbonation, appropriate for this style of beer. super smooth mouthfeel.
overall - one of Round Guy's best beers so far.
