Pours a dark brown color with ruby edges. The finger of beige head dissipates rather quickly. The nose has some nice roasted notes and caused me to erroneously believe that this offering would be hearty. The body is thin for a porter and the roast profile is weak. There is not really a hint of pumpkin in the flavor either. The finish is dry, but nothing in the flavor profile is terribly interesting at all.

Poured into tall pint glass, color is brown, dark brown, head is tan, some lacing and ring that remains through the drink.
Smell is interesting, somewhat muddled, earthy notes, some chocolate, some lighter vanilla.
Taste is a mild blend of the flavors used in this brew, chocolate notes are first, followed by the spices mostly vanilla with a mild cinnamon bite, porter base is subdued with chocolate malts providing most flavor. ginger is noted and blends well with the other spices to create a mild flavored pumpkin ale.
Mouthfeel is crisp, flavorful on the tongue, fading into a blend of bitter flavors and chocolate sweetness.
Overall, a milder pumpkin style brew, i like the porter style for pumpkin spices as it provides a slightly more natural backbone to the spices used in pumpkin ales.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker pint.
Appearance
Cola brown with 2 fingers of loose, fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Moderate-light carbonation.
Nose
Milk chocolate, roasted barley, brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Taste
Light Porter base comprised of roasted barley, semi-sweet chocolate and dusted cocoa powder. The spices stand up to the base beer with notes of allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin meat.
Mouthfeel
Medium-light bodied, smooth, clean and dry.
Overall
It's an okay Pumpkin Porter. I would have loved to see the base beer stand out a little better.

If you took away the pumpkin spices this would be an awesome brew. But the spices which have a pumpkin powder taste are way too over powering.
The appearance is dark and menacing with a small dense head.
The aroma apart fronm the spices is awesome. Slightly roasted with sutle hints of coffee and chocolate. The pumpkin spices in the aroma aren't overpowering but seem out of place.
The taste aside from the spices is also awesome with a full bodied beer with slightly roasted malts chocolate and coffee. The spices are overpowering and intrusive and don't compliment the beer at all. It gives the beer a dry and puckering feel.
I'd love to see this as a winter brew for the holidays, without the spices though.
