A: Poured a deep, deep brown near black much like burnt motor oil to a degree. A nice brown cap is present with good head rentention. After a moment the head resedes leaving about three rings of brown lacing clinging to the sides of the glass,
S: I noticed big vanilla, oak, upfront but the amount of vanilla that came off of this was amazing. Other subtle notes were big chocolate, roastiness and slight booze twinge. Bourbon was rather tame to my surprise and I kind of liked it.
T: Initial vanilla meets oak meets coconut here with roasty chocolate backbone. The palate is hit with a nice chocolate roasty note midway which also leaves a light slick, sordove sticky element that I can't really describe. The vanilla and oak really stay with this beer. A subtle bitterness perhaps from excessive hopping or introduction of toasted malts.
M: Well carbonated, full body, a sordove twangy note on the back coupled with sticky note. However, the beer is very nice and presents a rather creamy mouthfeel
O: A pretty good BBN Stout I would go back to and recommend.
