On tap. Poured a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of citrus, pine and toasted caramel. Sweet citrusy bite with a touch of pine and a good caramel backbone.

If War Hammer is the in your face wallop of a DIPA, then this is the tiny little brother sessionable IPA. It has nice floral notes and bitterness you expect with an IPA, with hints of fruit and malt. It comes with a very nice drinkability that I prefer over the big brother DIPA. I only wish they would offer something very similar to these two 'hammer' IPA's, but in between their positions on the ABV scale. If War Hammer swings to the high end of the spectrum with it's over the top flavors and booziness, then tack hammer swings toward the extremely low end with mild flavors and low ABV. This was good on tap at the brewery, but many IPA's in the 'sessionable' category turn out less than stellar in the can or bottle. If they would offer another 'hammer' IPA but in the 5.2%-6.5% range and canned, it would probably end up becoming my go to IPA in St. Louis. Even with that said though, this was delicious on tap and I will be partaking with this one again in the future.
