this is a well made pils, but i actually preferred their normal under pressure pils to this one, and frankly i didnt find it all that hoppy. i expected this to be really hopped up, and its just not, very little more than just the back end bitterness, although the base pils is still excellent. nice fuller body, even a little toasted element to it, subtle but there, and a bready but also very crisp german lager yeasts to dry it right up on the back end. very well carbonated too, but i thought this seemed a little muddled overall, like the hops tried to come out but ended up being more of a distraction than a major flavor agent. i would have liked this more, but having it side by side with the under pressure, there was really no contest, that beer was near perfect for the style, and seemed to have enough hops on its own without the need for this other edition. still, hard to speak negatively about anything these guys make though, because its all so well done on the whole. definitely one of the better operations in saint louis!

Gold with a fingernail of bright white on top. Heavy lacing. I smell Saaz hops and German lager yeast. I taste an aggressive dose of Saaz hops and I get some German lager yeast at the back of the palate. The mouth is light and quaffable.
