on tap at the brewery, new release of this one. deep reddish-brown, hints of orange tinges and a nice fluffy head, decent lacing. wasn't sure what i was getting into, but looked good. instantly got a whiff of funky tartness and dark fruit notes, with really nice balance between the two. taste followed but a stronger presence of smooth dark fruits. delicious combination of lighter tart flavors and the dark decadent wine-like notes. drank smooth and finished dry. would've gone for two if i didn't have to drive. picking up a bottle soon. good stuff 4 hands.

Pours a murky peach color. Head formation is snow white and a finger of depth. Nice retention with good lacing left behind. Aroma is dark fruits with green apple. It is a bit lactic, and souring, but great. Alcohol peeps through slightly in the back. Start of flavor profile is dark fruit with green apples coming in later. The barrel can be tasted a bit here, with the cabernat making an appearance later in the flavor profile. The flavor profile ripens from a bit sour to more sweet as the beer warms up. Mouth feel is bubbly, but otherwise smooth and easy to drink. It has a medium consistency with a bit of carbonation abrasion on the back of the tongue. Overall, it's a fun take on saisons. The wine barrel aging is a nice addition. It's fun and easy to drink, while still giving plenty of complexities to sift through.
